I agree that humility is an essential quality. It doesn’t mean self denial or asceticism, though, in my opinion. It means being willing to submit to others, to admit when you’re wrong, to be open to new ideas from new people. It means that you don’t think you are the center of the world (which most people do today). If more people were humble now the world would be better.

i think that humility is part of being gracious. i say this because one needs to know where the fine line between the sublime and the ridiculous is. that is you wouldn’t want to do yourself harm in the process and nobody i know enjoys being a door mat.
it could be a way that leads to happiness. i like gracious. it seems to have a good recipe with the right touch of both self esteem and humility.

I agree but not in all cases….For example: humility in prayers, being with poor people and good Friends is a great thing…humility is a way towards inner peace, It is generally considered more pleasant to be humble, as being boastful or obnoxious may have the natural consequence of annoying others. This may be why humility is considered a virtuous state of being. But in some cases, it is not recommended specially with people that don’t have this word in their dictionary…So you need to treat them like wise ….

Yes it is a beautiful word…does it lead to happiness ? My Opinion…it can do!
Humility can be a pathway to peace…peace can be a pathway to contentment ….contentment IS the pathway to true happiness !

not at all.if humilation is way to hapiness so u wont hear about people feeling bad.why people humilate each other?bcz of hate.if u love somene u wont humilate him.and something was caused to hurt why should he bring hapiness?
i think that the only humilation that bring hapiness is when we are praying only.
EDIT: ok thanks aussie,now i understand.if its like that so yeah its a way of hapiness.where there is only humble people,so no ego but only help and sharing with other and fraternity and love and tolerance………
