You are born with the right to decide what your life is about. The only real significance is that which you knowingly apply to these events, circumstances, and intentions of your life experience.
However most people do not take advantage of this immense power. The majority of human beings on this planet simply to walk from the cradle to the grave, without the slightest idea who they really are and what really matters to them.
Those of us who were born in modern civilization have a luxury that their ancestors may have missed. We have relative safety and security in terms of food, shelter and basic survival, where we have lots of time and energy to use toward a deeper exploration of self.
But again this opportunity is lost on the masses. Any use of time seems preferable to closely examine yourself and discover the truth about who we are.
Mindless television, the consumption of highly processed foods when we are not hungry to begin with, sex with people we hardly know, and use of psychotropic drugs are just some examples of how humanity flees fundamental questions: Who am I and what do I want?
Why we have raised to avoid deep introspection? Why does our society make fun of those who travel inside to find the answers to these fundamental questions?
More importantly, why will not fail to challenge those standards perverse? The truth is that we, as a collective and as individuals, do not want to know who we are.
We’re afraid of our own magnificence. We are terrified that if we look deep within us there is no excuse for our complacency, our failures and our fears.
The light of our greatness burns so strong, so deeply embedded in and forgotten, it scares us in a state of concern idiot with anything that can provide distractions.
But like all fears, the key to conquest is our willingness to confront the issue. Once we are open and honest about the fact that we have grown into adulthood without ever taking the time to find our own true identity, the deep and lasting change is possible.
The first step is to admit the truth: You’ve probably never sat in a quiet room and took a long look at who you are on the pretext social and what you really want to experience before dying.
The good news each time new version contains infinite possibility. It is never too late to start, and you can choose now to ask and answer tough questions about your true nature, your true core values, and what you honestly want to spend your life doing.
life at the height of happiness and fulfillment does not necessarily mean mountain climbing, jumping from an airplane, nor should be saving an endangered species or feed a starving village. In truth, there can be any of those things, all these things, some of these things with a completely different set of ideal you set, or any combination you choose without the contribution of any other person .
Only you decide who you are and what matters in your life. You’re in complete charge of where you go from here, not a single choice you make must comply with any preconceived idea of good, bad, good, bad, useful or so.
This is your life. And it is time to decide who is living and what it takes to make this wonderful person happy. P>
