i think tempering the urge to judge someone is a huge challenge (for me anyway). it’s so easy to dismiss someone and assume we know all about them based on a few words or actions, but people are so complex. we have no idea what choices and circumstances have made a stranger who they are.

Maria – I think this must be an impossible request by the Dalai Lama as sadly a vast majority of people in the world have no pity or sympathy for anyone but themselves.

i think the a big way to show compassion is getting rid of our egos. When we put ourselves first all the time, we tend to treat other ppl bad.
